The standard octagon shaped rain barrel tank measures 29" w x 29" l x 18" h and holds 54 gallons. This is a high quality, attractive rain barrel that comes with all spin welded fittings, brass and zinc hardware, and a child and pet safe inlet. The two overflow fittings work with your standard garden hose. There is no special kit to order for connecting the tanks. A great advantage of this system is that you can adapt your water collection tanks to your needs.

A full rain barrel could potentially crack during a hard freeze when the water expands into ice, but an empty rain barrel will not. When there is a hard freeze in the winter time, just remember to keep your drain plug open on your rain barrel and it will be fine.

How do I get rain into the rain barrel? 
The easiest way to install this rain barrel is to position it under a downspout or under the edge of a roof. A more elegant solution is to install a Water Spout Diverter. This prevents damage to the screen from torrential rains, and it is preferred by many Home Owner's Associations for aesthetic reasons.
